Creel Cottage is sheltered from the north by a steep brae (hill). A two minute footpath walk from the cottage takes you to the head of the brae providing this elevated view over the cottage (winter 2005/6) and continues through woodland to the village of Fortrose.

The renowned Moray Firth Bottlenosed Dolphins 'can' be seen from the windows of Creel Cottage, but we recommend guests book a trip with harbour master and take a closer look.  As you can see the cottage is only 50 metres from the booking office and of course you can easily get updates of good sightings.
